The Mood-Swing

Up and down
Up and down
I wish I could jump off
It rained today
My shoes are caked
With mud and sticks and moss
I use my feet
To push the ground
And lift into the air
And when I rise
I touch the clouds
And I see everywhere
At first, I float
And then I fall
And sometimes I may cry
But many times
I shed no tears
I'm somewhat scared of heights
The earth below
Is cold and slick
Yet firm beneath my feet
Down here
The world seems plain and safe
Yet tiresome and bleak
And then I rise
I knew I would
It still happens so fast
This brand-new view
This joyful mood
It rinses clean my past
The up and down
The in and out
My heart can hardly beat
I'm just so tired
Someone, please help!
I'm chained to this swing seat
