Sara Ropski ’20
Sara Ropski, a CDM graduate and Pennsylvania National Guard member since 2016, served in a public affairs and administration role at brigade headquarters during President Joe Biden’s inauguration. She took photos of and conducted interviews with the troops for press releases.
Marisa Rizzo ’15
Cumberland Regional High School’s Marisa Rizzo, the assistant athletic trainer, was recently named the Educational Service Professional of the Year by the Cumberland Regional School District Board of Education. She is also a health science teacher and coordinator of student activities for the school.
Lauren Hume ’16
Lauren Hume, a nurse at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, has adopted the Mama-Tee Community Fridge Project, which provides healthy food for people in need in Philadelphia by stocking yellow refrigerators. After filling one fridge, she posted about them on social media. Soon friends and strangers started sending her money to cover the cost of food.
Mare Draper ’19
Mare Draper has opened Beans Coffee House in Newark, Delaware. The café serves as a safe place for teens and young adults who are suffering from anxiety, depression, and suicidal intentions to gain work experience. She credits the Business and Organizational Leadership program for teaching many of the skills she needed to launch the business.
Patricia Demiranda ’14
After Pat Demiranda lost her 20-year-old son to gun violence in Chester, she found a way to honor her beloved. After receiving her master’s degree in Organizational and Strategic Leadership, she opened Camp Encouragement, which gives children opportunities to develop their cognitive intelligence, learn new skills, and rediscover hope after experiencing grief.
