From the Alumni Executive Board

Dear Alumni,

Over the past seven years, I have had the honor and pleasure to serve you as a member of the Neumann University Alumni Executive Board (AEB). During my time as board president, I strived to uphold the values of Neumann in all aspects of our work. My intention was always to serve with excellence and proudly represent our alumni community.

I am incredibly proud of the accomplishments made by this board over the past few years. The AEB focused on growing the Alumni Awards program, increasing our board membership, and creating an all-encompassing volunteer program. All of these efforts have assisted Neumann University in identifying and honoring distinguished alumni in the exceptional work they do to serve others.

As Bryan Defoney ’13, begins his term as president, he will share some exciting initiatives that highlight ways in which Neumann alumni can become involved with our ever-growing campus community. This fall, the AEB will be launching a campus-wide volunteer program through which alumni and parents can give back to Neumann and interact with current students. Under Bryan’s leadership, the AEB will increase our visibility with faculty and students by working collaboratively to identify engagement opportunities. From organized speaking engagements to alumni and student partnerships, these events will offer value to our students' educational experience and provide them with additional professional support and resources throughout their life journey.

The future is incredibly bright for our beloved institution, and I challenge each of you to purposefully find new ways in this upcoming year to give back your time, talent, and treasure to Neumann University. I am excited for the future of our Alumni Executive Board under the leadership of Bryan, and I am confident he will continue to strengthen the board and the alumni community.

Thank you for allowing me to serve as your Alumni Association President

FOREVER A KNIGHT,
Lori Smith ’99 ’05
