Neumann University’s women’s lacrosse team has high expectations for this season and are ready to start off game one with a victory at home. With the season opener just around the corner, anticipation is building for what is going to be a great matchup.

Last season, the Knights were top four in the Atlantic East Conference in all of the following categories: goals per game, assists per game, shots per game, points per game, women-down goals per game, ground balls per game, caused turnovers, and save percentage.

Sophomore midfielder Gia Caso, before playing her first collegiate lacrosse game, exclaimed, "What about them Knights!"

On February 20th, at 4 p.m., our Knights kick off their season at home on the turf against the Stockton University Ospreys. This marks their second-ever encounter, with the initial meeting taking place in March 2017, resulting in a 19-7 loss for the Knights in Galloway, NJ.

The Ospreys come into this season with two consecutive playoff appearances, while the Knights enter the season after back-to-back winning seasons and Atlantic East Conference semifinal appearances. This year, however, the team carries heightened expectations.

Entering her fourth year as head coach of the women's lacrosse team, Coach Liz Martin expresses enthusiasm for the new season, stating, "It's a new year. I am excited to win with this fantastic group of girls."

Senior attack Morghan Stiles emphasizes the team's unity, stating, "We're all connected. We want to win it all."

With confidence and a belief in their talent, the team aspires to bring home a conference championship this year.

Senior midfielder Nicki Floyd asserts, "Talk is cheap. We all have the same goal, and that is to win."

The Neumann Knights have high expectations for this season, but before anything they have to face a flock of ospreys from Stockton University that will be swooping into town.

Senior attack Leia DiNuova said it best, stating, "Our team is outstanding, but first I want us to focus on Stockton. We need to find a way to win and go from there.”
