During the enchanting embrace of December, the Meagher Theatre at Neumann University resonated with an exquisite symphony that blended the timeless resonance of Christmas carols and holiday melodies. The university celebrated its 48th annual Christmas concert this year with the theme of "Peace to the World."

Director Yukiko Ishida, an esteemed figure in the world of music, conducted the choir.

The evening commenced with a warm welcome by Eric R. Wellington, the dean of the School of Business, followed by a touching address from Victor Fomin, a Ukrainian assistant professor from the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. The words of Fomin shed light on the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

Sr. Kathyrn Dougherty concluded the prelude with a heartfelt prayer.

The choir then took center stage singing a program that included cherished Christmas classics like "Call to Christmas Joy," "Christmas Flourish," and other songs such as "Pace e Bene" and "Let There Be Peace On Earth."

The concert embraced inclusivity as choir members translated a song into American Sign Language, but the pinnacle of the evening arrived when Ishida, not just a conductor but also a vocalist, graced her choir with a performance of her original composition, "Pace e Bene."

Post-concert, the stage welcomed a surprise guest as Santa Claus made a heartwarming appearance, bringing cheer and concluding the evening with the timeless melody of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."
