Search for Peace : A Dialogue with a Palestinian and Israeli

As wars are still occurring in Israel and Palestine, Neumann University will be bringing a discussion between one Israeli and one Palestinian to campus for students.

The Civic Engagement Committee and the Neumann Institute for Franciscan Studies Office will be collaborating with the Franciscan Action Network to host the virtual discussion panel via Zoom on Thursday, March 14, at 3 p.m. ET.

The title of the panel is “Dialogue with Palestinian and Israeli Bereaved Families for Peace.”

On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, Hasan Yonten and Jude Okoyeh, co-chairs of Neumann’s Civic Engagement Committee, sent out an email inviting students to this discussion.

According to Yonten, the speakers “will share their personal stories of loss and discuss how they continue to work together for peace and reconciliation even under current challenging circumstances.”

The presentation will be roughly 35 minutes with an additional 30 minutes of Q&A following.

Students who register but cannot attend the virtual event in real-time will be sent a recording.

This free event allows students to gain a greater understanding of what is happening in Israel and Palestine and how families from both countries are being affected.

On behalf of Neumann, the Neumann Institute for Franciscan Studies will make a donation to the Franciscan Action Network.
