This week's reading has really spoken to a piece of my Neumann experience. One idea that immediately catches my attention from the Gospel: “From the shining cloud the Father’s voice is heard: This is my beloved Son, hear him.” This is so meaningful to me because I have now had the chance to go on Neumann's Search retreat twice; once as a retreatant and then again as a leader. Generally, on the Sunday morning of each retreat, the leaders and the retreatants go onto the beach at dawn to enjoy the sunrise. If you have been on the retreat, you can understand this incredible view over the ocean, and if you haven’t, I hope you have had the opportunity to see some of the incredible pictures on social media (@neuministry).

The colors in the sky are always mesmerizing, and there is a moment as the sun beginssunrise2 to peek through the clouds and over the horizon where the light glistens off the water just right. During that split second, early in the morning, as I watch a new day begin...that’s when I feel closest to God. It feels as if God is reaching down and handing me the sun, as he blesses me with a new day, and a new beginning. Throughout creation we find the Lord in all his glory. The clouds are removed, and we hear him. Remove the fog and embrace the light of your life!
