The Neumann University Women’s Ice Hockey team means so much to me, and by team, I mean past teammates as well. I have met many awesome people and created many relationships that I know won’t go away once my college career comes to an end. My teammates are going to be a part of my life forever, and it is comforting knowing that. I appreciate each and every one of you in your own way. I think what I’ll miss most is not seeing my teammates every day. It’s crazy to think that this team has the ability to be quiet and serious one minute, realize that’s not how we like to do things, to dancing and laughing the next. I’m going to miss being forced to see my friends every day at practice, a game, or at an event, even if it was at 5:30 am, because being around a group of people that often creates a bond that not many people get to experience. You push through everything and still end up in the same place all together. I’m going to miss being able to tell people I’m on the Neumann Women’s Ice Hockey Team, but I’m so happy to be able to say I had my part in it.

To the person that wears the #3 jersey next, first, I want to say smart decision on picking #3, it’s a good number. I also want to say enjoy your years here. Take in every minute that you can. Have the absolute best attitude you can every time you’re with the team, and that includes the occasional 6 am and 7-hour bus rides. The days that feel the longest can also be the times you remember the most. You’ll want to look back and have no regrets. This experience doesn’t last forever, but you’ll want it to, so appreciate it now!

I do not think it is possible to write down all the things Neumann University has prepared me for, once i enter the working world. My experience here has taught me how to manage my time, how to create relationships with others, how to handle wins and losses, how to be a professional in the work force, how to successfully work with others as a team, how to put others first, and many other things. Most importantly though, Neumann University has provided me with a network of people and a community that supports me. I know that I have a group of people that will help me through my endeavors after college, and that is an unbelievable feeling.

Lastly, THANK YOU! Thank you to all my teammates for everything you have given me. All I really want to say is keep being a group of goofy people that have a good time and love hockey. Don’t forget to stay positive and when in doubt, make fun of Julia!
