11.17.2016 098I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve this summer at Wind River Reservation in Wyoming with Campus Ministry and a great group. As a part of Neumann’s core RISES values, service is very important to the Neumann community. I participated in many local service opportunities such as operation hunger and the distribution of giving tree items in Philadelphia. By completing these local acts of service, I knew I wanted to continue. The San Damiano Service Program offers service opportunities both domestic and international. Serving in Wyoming sparked my interest.

As a New Jersey resident, I have never explored the west. I saw this trip as an opportunity to not only serve those who are in need but to observe different cultures and communities. Our service activities will include projects to improve reservation life for the Arapaho and Shoshone tribes. We will also be able to experience the cultures of these tribes. To support our service trip, our group organized a 5K run/walk titled “Rebuild 5K” on April 7th, 2019. Registration will start at 8:15am. Runners will start at 9:00am, walkers at 9:15am, and a Kid’s Dash at 9:45am. The cost for the general public is $20 and $15 for Neumann students. Registration is open and ready to go! We hope to see you there! Remember, FrancisCAN run, so can you!
