The Office of Student Engagement and Leadership collaborated with Mission and Ministry, Student Government Association, and The Black Student Union to continue with the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Day of Honor. The virtual offerings listed below have been curated to embody the message and legacy Dr. King left.
Prayer Service with Fr. Stephen Thorne @ 12:30PM
Reverend Stephen Thorne is a priest of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia who has served as in parish ministry, education and administration since 1998. He began ministry at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish in Chester and served as Director of the Office for Black Catholics for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, where he coordinated the programming for Martin Luther King Day for the Archdiocese. He was the keynote speaker for Martin Luther King Jr Day for Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and for the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Currently, Father Thorne serves as Pastor of Saint Martin de Porres Catholic Church in North Philadelphia, adjunct faculty at Neumann University and a member of the Commission on Race and Reconciliation for the City of Philadelphia.
