Alexandria Barnett

Neumann’s Alexandria Barnett won the award for best undergraduate student research paper at the annual conference of the Pennsylvania Association for Criminal Justice Educators (PACJE), held at Slippery Rock University on March 20-21.

Entitled The Internet and the Craigslist Killer: The Dark Side of Craigslist, Alexandria’s work is about the dangers of using websites like Craigslist, and the need for it and similar sites to implement safeguards to protect the people who use them. Alex is pursuing a double major in criminal justice and communication/media arts.

According to the PACJE website, the purpose of these competitions is to highlight exemplary research papers written by students from PACJE member institutions about general criminology and criminal justice. Five undergraduate papers were submitted for this year’s conference.

PACJE’s stated mission is to nurture Criminal Justice education in academic institutions and training centers across the state; share new knowledge/skills/techniques that have been developed through research; and equip educators with the methods that will enhance the learning experience of students in Criminal Justice.
