Brendan Boschi now sits at the top of the list for career points in men’s lacrosse.
He broke the Neumann record on April 16 in a 27-7 win vs. Centenary with a 10-point performance. His four goals and six assists raised his point total to 231, surpassing the former record of 223, held by Drew Conlon.
In his time at Neumann, Boschi has notched 134 goals and 97 assists. One game remains on the 2025 schedule.
A sport management major from Litchfield, New Hampshire, Boschi set the record in just three years. He attributes his success to the fact that he loves the competitive and creative nature of the sport.
“It brings together my favorite parts of every other sport I’ve watched: the fast play of hockey, the strategy of running plays in basketball, and the field vision and quick decision-making of soccer. It brings together everything I love to do.”
He credits his ability to use both hands and unselfish teammates for his success. “I’m a righty but have put in a lot of hard work to become a balanced stick handler,” he says. “I’m a stickler on form so I can play up to my standard.”
Kyle Hofstaedter, his coach, agrees: “Brendan is one of the hardest working people I know. Whether it is in the classroom or on the lacrosse field, he always wants to be the best. Brendan works tirelessly to improve his skills and is passionate about the game of lacrosse. I couldn’t be happier to have him break the career points record for this program. No one deserves it more.”
Boschi used a recruiting coordinator in his college search. He was looking for a campus with a sport management program on the East Coast and near a big city. The recruiter provided a list of ten schools, and Boschi researched all of them.
“I visited campus twice, met other recruits, and loved the sport management program,” he recalls. “I’ve been able to do all I wanted here and more. The people make the place, and I met a great group of friends that I’ll have for the rest of my life.”
Boschi is grateful to the people who have helped him over the years, noting Coach Kyle Gardner, Assistant Coach Bryan Capone, Coach Hofstaedter, Dr. Julie Lanzillo, the Cameron family in NH, and his own family as key influences.
Regarding career plans, he is open to a job in social media but would love to land a post in college athletics administration and coaching lacrosse.
“If I can do both,” he smiles, “that would be a dream.”
