Canada Approves Neumann for Tuition Tax Breaks

The Canada Revenue Agency has designated Neumann University a Prescribed University Outside of Canada and a Qualified Donee.  Neumann becomes one of only twenty-six universities in Pennsylvania to receive this designation, which allows Canadian families who send their children to attend the university the ability to write off a portion of their tuition and certain fees on their taxes.

With its new status, Neumann can issue receipts to Canadian families which will allow them to fill out the forms necessary to get the tax credits (TL 11A and TL11D found at Canada.ca/cra-forms or by calling 1-800-959-8281).

Fifteen to twenty Canadian students attend Neumann University every year, hailing from Vancouver to Newfoundland, many of whom play on one of the university’s four ice and roller hockey teams.

“It was a long process to get this status, “says Dr. Lawrence DiPaolo, Jr., vice president for academic affairs, “but it should help make Neumann University a more affordable choice for our current and future students from Canada.”
