Class Conducts Research for Media Business Authority

The Sports and Entertainment Marketing and Promotions class is conducting research to assess visitor and community retail preferences in downtown Media for the Media Business Authority (MBA).

“The hope is to use the research results to assess visitor retail preferences and ultimately make changes that would attract more people and increase business for local Media merchants,” said Dr. Andrea Pent, associate professor, Sport and Entertainment Management, who teaches the class. Students are collecting data at Media events, at the Media Courthouse and outside local businesses during October and November.

“So far, the students assisted the MBA with some valuable input in creating the survey instrument. The last research effort was in 2006 and much has changed with consumer buying habits since then,” Pent said. “We hope to be able to provide some helpful data for the MBA to use as it plans for future economic development.”
