Alumni and friends of Neumann have recently established four new endowed scholarships.

Endowed funds are invested in perpetuity. Each year, only a portion of the earnings is awarded to students, while the principal continues to grow, ensuring long-term support.

Margaret S. Phiambolis, Esq. Endowed Fund for Pre-Law Education

Established by Thomas Phiambolis, MD, in loving memory of his wife, Sibby, this endowed scholarship supports students pursuing pre-law or political science. The fund also serves as a tribute to Dr. Phiambolis, a devoted board member and honorary alumnus whose leadership and service have strengthened the university for more than 20 years.

Joseph and Mary Crawford Endowed Scholarship

Established by Joseph Crawford ’08, a liberal studies graduate, and his wife, Mary, this endowed scholarship supports students from Philadelphia Archdiocesan high schools, with preference for Cardinal O’Hara graduates. Inspired by Crawford’s Neumann experience and the university’s Franciscan values, the fund reflects their shared commitment to student success and Catholic education.

Deacon Philip and Barbara Giordano Scholarship

Established by Reverend Philip E. Giordano ’96 and wife, Barbara, this scholarship supports graduate students in the MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Established in recognition of Deacon Giordano’s vocation and commitment to pastoral care, this fund reflects the couple’s dedication to preparing compassionate leaders in service to others.

Maria Gregg ’83 Scholarship

Established by Theodore Gregg in loving memory of his wife, Maria Gregg ’83 (BS in Liberal Studies), this endowed scholarship honors Maria’s deep gratitude to the university and the Sisters of St. Francis, whom she credited for her success.
