Experts to Provide International Marketing Tips for Local Businesses

Business owners throughout the Delaware Valley can learn how to successfully expand into international markets at a half-day seminar hosted by Neumann University on Tuesday, October 21.

 

Entitled The World is Your Market, the seminar runs from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. and features expert speakers from the public and private sectors. Tony Ceballos, director of the Philadelphia U.S. Export Assistance Center, will speak on international business planning. He will provide tips on market analysis, promotional strategies, trade missions, and services available through the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Debbie Nowak, vice president for international banking at National Penn Bank, will address export financing, and Jeff Briggs, director of sales for the United Parcel Service Chesapeake District, will explain freight forwarding and export documentation.

 

Dr. Mehdi Hojjat, organizer of the seminar and professor of international business and finance at Neumann, will speak on recent trends in and projections for international trade.

 

Finally, Mark Capofari of Ancillare Global Logistics, will explain how he launched international marketing for his company.

 

According to Dr. Hojjat, attendees "will learn how to evaluate your export potential, analyze your competitors, promote your products globally, finance your export sales, and manage your export documentation."

 

The fee for the seminar, which will occur in Our Lady of Angels Convent, is $30. Those who register by September 30 will receive free trade data on their industry.

The seminar is sponsored by the Neumann University Division of Business and Information Management, the University Center for Community Leadership Development and Entrepreneurship, and the U.S. Department of Commerce Philadelphia Export Assistance Center with assistance from the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce.
