Scholarship of Teaching and Learning

The Academic Affairs Office of Neumann University hosted the6th annual Faculty Convivium on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning at the OLA Spiritual Center on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. The evening began with a reception and the opportunity to interact with the faculty showcasing their scholarship with poster presentations.

During the poster presentations, live entertainment in the form of background music was offered by Silvia Riviello, John Mizzoni, and Rick Sayers. Following dinner, a brief prayer service was held, which reflected the words of St. John Paul II from his introduction to Ex Corde Ecclesia (August 15, 1990)

Oral presentations followed the prayer service. This year’s first presentation included 2 faculty members as well as 2 current and 2 former students. This presentation was followed with a reflective session on the development of our current Core Experience for undergraduates. The office of the Associate Vice-President for Academic Affairs (AVPAA) coordinated the evening’s events and reservations under Sr. Janet Thiel, OSF, PhD (AVPAA) and her assistant, Susan Long. Approximately 40 faculty and administration were in attendance.
