Lindsey Fagan broke the Neumann record for career goals in women’s lacrosse with four scores against Gwynedd Mercy in a 19-8 win on April 12.
She notched her 259th goal that day, surpassing Kaitlyn Conrad’s career mark of 258. On April 16, Fagan extended her record to 263 with four goals against Centenary and has more opportunities to add to her Neumann total with a game against Marywood on April 23 and more in Atlantic East postseason play.
Fagan’s excellent season has also catapulted her into second place in career points. She currently stands at 316, trailing only Conrad’s 337. Goals and assists count as points in lacrosse.
Her goal-scoring prowess has propelled her to the pinnacle of the university’s lacrosse record book. The men’s lacrosse record for career goals is 165, almost 100 shy of Fagan’s eye-popping total.
“I am so grateful that, during my first year as Neumann's head coach, Lindsey Fagan decided to play lacrosse while working on her master’s degree,” said Jackie Neary. “Lindsey is such an asset both on and off the field, and I am so happy for her and her family. Her career record for goals will surely stand the test of time.”
Fagan, a graduate student, is in her fifth year of eligibility. The Norwood native is an alumna of Bonner-Prendergast High School.
"What an amazing accomplishment personally for Lindsey and a testament to the tremendous impact she has had on the women's lacrosse program during her time here at Neumann,” said John Krimmel, director of athletics and recreation.
“I speak for the entire department when I say how proud we are of Lindsey, and we look forward to seeing her score more goals as we continue the pursuit of an Atlantic East championship this season."
