Giant Peach Lands at Neumann

Center Stage Productions (CSP) presents delightful, off-beat musical James and the Giant Peach, Jr. July 28-30 at Neumann University.

Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories, Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach Jr. is a brand new take on this classic tale. Featuring a wickedly tuneful score and a witty and charming book, this is a musical adventure about courage and self-discovery.

When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way.

Dedicated to the love of theatre, music and dance, a group of teachers formed the Chichester Community Theatre in 1984. In order to reach out beyond the local community the name changed to Center Stage Productions. The organization is an independent, self-supporting institution working to enhance the role of live theatre in the community. Center Stage Productions takes pride in the creation of theatre meant to be an educational, enlightening and enjoyable experience.

Performances will be held in the Fred P. Meagher Theater in the Thomas A. Bruder, Jr. Life Center. Performances run Thursday, July 28 at 7:30 p.m., Friday, July 29 at 11 a.m. and Saturday, July 30 at 11 a.m. Life Center.

General admission is $8. Group rates available.
