As a child prodigy in principles, Meir challenged any pressure to conform. After running away from home, leading protest parades and making soapbox speeches, she was prepared to leave American comforts behind and build for her people a place where Jews can live under the protection of their own country. Meir is a signer of Israel’s Declaration of Independence and rose to become Prime Minister of Israel. 

Author Ann Atkins presents this detailed history of the life of Golda Meir. Ann’s journey has included living and working in Korea, England and Germany. Her career background has included college instructor, counselor and director of a family support center. Atkins has a master’s degree in counseling from Boston University with studies encompassed at the University of Cambridge.

This event is presented by the Cultural Arts Forum, which has been sponsoring events to support adult women students at Neumann University through the endowed scholarship named in honor of the founder of the Forum, Margaret Mary Kearney.  Since its founding in 1970, the Forum has presented more than 250 events and seminars.
