The Neumann University Concert Chorale will present its annual Christmas concert on Friday, December 1, at 8 p.m. in the Meagher Theatre. The timely theme of this year’s program is “Peace to the World.”
More than 30 men and women are members of the Concert Chorale. They will celebrate the Christmas season with performances of Let There Be Peace on Earth, a Christmas medley of holiday favorites, and The Mystery and the Majesty. The group will also sing the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah.
Dr. Yukiko Ishida is the artistic director of the Chorale, an ensemble that has performed for 48 years at college events, local churches, and community celebrations.
An associate professor of music and coloratura soprano with international experience, Dr. Ishida teaches voice at Neumann and has directed the Chorale since 1990. She is also soloist, music director, and minister of music at Havertown United Methodist Church in Havertown, PA.
The group has performed throughout the eastern United States and in Canada, Germany, Czech Republic, and Japan.
Admission to the concert is free for Neumann students, faculty, and staff.
