The 2016 Delaware Individual Artist Fellows program awarded Glenn Holmstrom, associate professor of art, an honorable mention for the body of work he created during his recent sabbatical. He is one of only 20 artists recognized by the state.

Holmstrom was recognized for his work in the Visual Arts: Painting category.

The Individual Artist Fellowships from the Delaware Division of the Arts recognize artists in a variety of disciplines for their outstanding quality of work and provide some monetary awards. This year, work samples from 118 Delaware choreographers, composers, musicians, writers, and visual artists were reviewed by out-of-state arts professionals, considering both demonstrated creativity and skill in their art form. Sixteen artists were selected for fellowships and four for honorable mentions.

Last year, Holmstrom won first place in a national juried show, sponsored by the Oxford Arts Alliance in Chester County, for his mixed media works entitled “Distillations.”
