Born and raised in Chester, Pennsylvania, Jacquelyn Wilson Fegley was one of three children and a proud graduate of Notre Dame Girls High School, Moylan Rose Valley (Class of 1962). After high school, she entered the Convent of the Sisters of St. Francis, where she spent ten years devoted to prayer, learning, and service—an early reflection of the Franciscan values that would guide her throughout life.
Before pursuing her nursing degree, Jackie taught grade school for four years, while also living in an orphanage for one of those years caring for thirteen children between the ages of three and nine, living out the values of Service and Reverence for each person. She later answered a new calling and enrolled at Our Lady of Angels College (now Neumann University), graduating in 1971 as a member of the University’s second nursing class.
As a registered nurse at Holy Redeemer and Nazareth Hospitals, Jackie served with Integrity and Excellence, combining professional skill with genuine compassion for those in her care. In 1974, she married William H. Fegley Jr., and together they raised five children, nurturing in their family the same commitment to faith, kindness, and responsibility that has defined Jackie’s life. Today, they are the proud grandparents of eleven grandchildren.
Through her lifelong dedication to faith, family, education, and the healing profession, Jacquelyn Wilson Fegley exemplifies the RISES values—Reverence, Integrity, Service, Excellence, and Stewardship—that are at the heart of Neumann University’s mission.
Reflecting on her blessings, Jackie shares: “God was good to our family, and we are happy to be in a position, together with my husband, to provide scholarships.
