The 2014 Keep the Dream Alive concert will focus on the connection between consumerism and trafficking. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, February 18th at 7:30 p.m. in the Meagher Theatre.

Students from the campus ministry COR team and Student Government Association will speak about the impact of consumers’ buying habits, how those habits affect the dignity of other people, and how close Neumann is to becoming a Fair Trade campus. In addition, a representative of Media, Pennsylvania, will explain how the community became a Fair Trade town, and what impact that change has had on its businesses and townspeople.

The concert program includes performances from various student groups: the Christina Brame Gospel Choir, the Praise Dance Team, Boogie Nights, the Sr. Bernadette McInnis Poetry Club, Contemporary Music Ministry, and the choir of the Sisters of Saint Francis of Philadelphia.

The concert is open to the public. A free will offering will be accepted to support Dawn’s Place in Philadelphia. The Student Peace Alliance will have a Fair Trade Table in the Great Hall of the Bruder Life Center after the concert.
