Neumann University has appointed John Mizzoni to head the Arts and Humanities Department in the Division of Arts and Sciences. A professor of philosophy, Mizzoni has taught at Neumann since 2000.
An expert in the field of applied ethics and environmental ethics, Mizzoni is the author of Ethics: The Basics, a book published in 2009. Some of his many published articles include Teaching Moral Philosophy with Popular Music, Going Green with Gravitas: The Moral Duty of Sustainable Businesses and What Would Darwin Make of Bernard Madoff?
He has taught upper-level courses entitled Ethics and the Environment, Philosophy of Music, Business Ethics, Social/Political Philosophy, and Non-Western Philosophy. Before joining the Neumann faculty, he was a lecturer at Villanova University, St. Joseph's University, LaSalle University, Chestnut Hill College, and Rowan University.
Mizzoni, who lives in Jenkintown, holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Philosophy from Temple University, and a B.A. in Philosophy and Humanities from Providence College.
