Robin Cogan, a veteran school nurse in the Camden City School District, will address the issue of gun violence in a presentation on Saturday, April 5, at 9 a.m. in the Bayada Teaching Auditorium.
Cogan is the speaker for the 18th annual address in the Philadelphia General Hospital (PGH) Lecture Series, held in collaboration with the J. Mark and Ann Claffey Baiada Professorship in Nursing & Home Health Care.
The title of her address is "School Safety from a School Nurse's Perspective: A Public Health Approach to Stemming Gun Violence." The lecture is free and open to the public.
In addition to her 24 years of experience in Camden schools, Cogan teaches in the School Nurse Certificate Program at Rutgers University-Camden and writes a weekly blog, The Relentless School Nurse.
She also serves as the New Jersey Director for the National Association of School Nurses and is a Johnson & Johnson School Health Leadership Fellow.
Up to 1.5 CEU credits (pending approval) will be available for registered nurses in attendance.
A continental breakfast will be available at 8:30 a.m. The program, including time for a Q&A with Cogan, will run from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.
