Riviello to Lead Math and Science Department

Neumann University has appointed Sylvia Riviello to head the Math and Science Department in the Division of Arts and Sciences. An assistant professor of chemistry, Riviello has taught at Neumann since 2010.

Riviello has led the Science Work Group at Neumann, supervising ten faculty members and coordinating 60 classes for biology, chemistry, physics, physical science and environmental science. Her teaching of chemistry to science majors has earned her student nominations for the university's Excellence in Teaching Award in both 2011 and 2012.

She has taught at Immaculata University, Rosemont College, Burlington County College and Camden County College. In addition to her academic background, she brings corporate experience to the classroom. For ten years, she worked as a thermal design analysis manager at Lockheed Martin.

A resident of Philadelphia, Riviello holds a B.A. in Chemistry from Immaculata University and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Bryn Mawr College.
