Campus Ministry is organizing another sleep-out for the homeless, an event that’s quickly becoming a popular tradition at Neumann. This year, the sleep-out is scheduled for Friday, November 20. Students will gather in the Bayada Atrium of the Mirenda Center for Sport, Spirituality and Character Development at 5 p.m. The evening will begin with a movie in the Devine Hospitality Suite before students prepare the cardboard boxes that will serve as their shelter that night.

Last year, despite temperatures that fell into the mid-20s, about two dozen students and staff spent the night in boxes to bring attention to the plight of the homeless in America. Occasional discussion groups in the atrium provided some respite from the freezing weather.
