Campus tours started every 15 minutes and were very popular on a bright, spring day.

The families of approximately 250 high school students flocked to campus on Sunday, March 22, for Neumann’s spring open house. Those students, accompanied by parents and siblings, first gathered in large groups (by major) across campus to hear presentations from deans and admissions representatives. Total attendance topped 750.

Deans Lawrence Burgee (Business and Information Management), Barbara Hanes (Education and Human Services), Kathleen Hoover (Nursing and Health Sciences), and Alfred Mueller (Arts and Sciences) welcomed the families to campus and described the options available in their academic divisions.

At noon, everyone walked to the Mirenda Center for Sport, Spirituality and Character Development where faculty members were available to answer questions about specific majors and 21 Neumann Navigators (current students) launched campus tours every 15 minutes. On a chilly but sunny spring day, the tours were a popular activity. In addition, Neumann students representing two dozen clubs and most of the university’s 22 NCAA athletic teams were available to meet and chat with their high school counterparts.

Although most visitors were from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, one intrepid family made the trek from Rochester, New York, to investigate Neumann’s uniquely personal college experience.
