On November 7, members of Neumann University’s women’s and men’s lacrosse teams participated in the Stockings for Soldiers event at the Brandywine Shopping Plaza in Wilmington, Delaware.
During the event, the student-athletes packed items to be sent to American armed forces stationed overseas. Pictured at the event are Gia Caso, Connor Hurley, Brendan Boschi, Ainsley George, Arianna Hutchinson, and Neve Murphy, who worked together to make a meaningful contribution.
Stockings for Soldiers, an initiative that has been running for the past 20 years, has sent over 151,000 stockings to deployed troops. The program’s mission is to let service members know they are remembered and appreciated while they are away from home and their families. The stockings are filled with holiday cheer and goodies that remind the troops of home.
Events like these not only support the troops but also give Neumann students the chance to engage in service projects that align with the university’s values of compassion and community involvement.
