The Hall of Fame, which is moving its induction ceremony from Charter Week to Homecoming, is also soliciting nominations through March 31.
There are currently 51 members in the Hall: 36 players, four teams, seven coaches, and four administrators.
Before submitting a nomination, however, faculty and staff may want to know who’s already in. Here’s a numerical breakdown of inductions (by team) since the Hall was established in 1996. The full list of names is on the nomination webpage.
9 -- Men’s basketball (players)
8 -- Softball (six players, one team, one coach)
7 -- Women’s basketball (players)
7 -- Baseball (five players, one team, one coach)
6 -- Women’s volleyball (four players, one team, one coach)
5 -- Field hockey (players)
5 -- Women’s tennis (four players, one coach)
3 -- Men’s ice hockey (two players, one team)
2 -- Women’s ice hockey (players)
2 -- Women’s lacrosse (players)
2 -- Women’s soccer (players)
2 -- Men’s lacrosse (one player, one coach)
2 -- Men’s golf (one player, one coach)
1 -- Cross country (player)
1 -- Men’s soccer (coach)
Teams inducted into the Hall as a group are baseball (1999), softball (2006), women’s volleyball (2007), and the 2008-09 men’s ice hockey team, which won the NCAA Division III national championship.
Coaches inducted individually are Judy Allen (tennis), Randy Mills (lacrosse), Bill Saar (softball), Len Schuler (baseball and more), Frank Sill (golf), Kevin Sloan (soccer), and Peggy Vanim (volleyball). Others are also in the Hall, inducted with the teams named above.
Administrators in the Hall are Dr. Rosalie and Mr. Anthony Mirenda, Sr. Marguerite O’Beirne, and Sr. Linda DeCero.
Players and coaches are eligible for induction to the Hall of Fame five years after the date of their graduation or departure from the university.
